Please be aware that fully signed copies of Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Beatles and Rolling Stones albums are not common at all, and if you are offered any fully signed albums, CD's or programs etc you should always have them fully verified before parting with any money. Never simply accept the wonderful back story that comes with the item, in most cases it has simply been made up by the seller after doing a few Google searches.
We're regularly asked about the authenticity of signed vinyl items that are being sold on Facebook Marketplace or Etsy, and often it will be a fully signed top name band being sold at below market value, but with a great back story about how the seller once worked for a record company but now needs the space, and in almost every case the items prove to be simple forgeries that are worthless.
- We have seen many people being taken for thousands of pounds for fake signed items, only to find out when it's too late that they are worthless.
Never ever believe the story you are told "I worked in the music business" or "my mate works in security at a big venue" almost always prove to be simply made up stories created to help part you with your cash. Use your common sense and remember that "if its too good to be true" then its most likely is! Ask yourself, why would anyone sell you a fully signed Pink Floyd album for a few hundred £s when a dealer would easily offer a five figure sum for it?
We offer a "Quick Opinion" service which will help you decide regarding any signed item, you can find it by clicking here.
