Space autographs have long been one of the most fascinating areas of autograph collecting, combining history, exploration and some of the most remarkable achievements of the 20th century. They have also proved to be a particularly strong area of the signed memorabilia market, with some astronaut autographs increasing dramatically in value over the years.
For example, some Neil Armstrong signed photographs now sell for £3,000 or more. Our first Neil Armstrong autograph was purchased more than 30 years ago for just £25 — oh, how we wish we had a time machine!
Our connection with the world of space collecting goes back many years. We have had the great pleasure of meeting seven of the men who walked on the Moon: Buzz Aldrin, Alan Bean, Pete Conrad, Edgar Mitchell, Charlie Duke, Gene Cernan and Dave Scott, along with many other astronauts, through the Autographica signing events we organised and attended in the USA.
Many of the space autographs offered on this site have come directly from these signings and from similar events, giving us a unique insight into the world of astronaut autographs and their provenance.
What is an Autopen?
We also offer some Autopen-signed items, which are clearly identified as such. An Autopen is a machine that reproduces a person's signature, and thousands of these items were produced and distributed during the golden age of the American space programme in the 1960s and 1970s. They remain collectable in their own right.
