The TV Program 'Pot Black' changed snooker forever and made it one of the most popular sports in the country. With the advent of colour TV in 1967, David Attenborough who was controller of BBC2 a the time suggested that it might make good TV, and so Pot Black was born, making TV stars of Steve Davies, John Pullman, Ray Reardon, Fred Davis, Rex Williams and many more.
Today snooker is a worldwide sport and features players from all corners of the globe. Today we have Shaun Murphy, Jimmy White, Mark Williams, Ken Doherty, and of course Jimmy White and Ronnie O'Sullivan. We also sometimes have the late great Joe Davis as well, the first player to officially make the first maximum break and the only undefeated player in World Snooker Championship history.
